After pairing your charging station with the Energy manager, the charge mode is set by default to Peak shaving + Follow the peak.
If you wish to change your charge mode, tap the charging station tile in the Home tab
Go to your charging station settings via the gear icon at the top of the page.
In the next screen, tap charge mode
There are 2 charge modes:
-
Peak shaving (default)
Your charging station gets all available power (from the grid, supplemented by your own generated energy) without exceeding the maximum peak consumption. Thus, appliances controlled by the Energy manager will never cause the capacity rate to be charged.
If the appliances in the home (not controlled by the Energy manager) do exceed the maximum peak consumption during the current month, you can choose to use this new peak as the maximum peak for the rest of the month. To do this, activate the Follow the peak function by sliding the slider to the right. By default, this option is activated.
The advantage is that in the current month, extra power is released for your charging station to charge your car without increasing the capacity rate. At the beginning of the next month, this value is automatically reset. Read moreHere you have the possibility to adjust the maximum peak consumption. Please note that increasing the maximum peak consumption will affect the capacity rate.
-
Follow the sun
Your charging station receives only your own generated energy that you would otherwise inject into the grid. No energy is taken from the grid. Read more
In changing weather conditions, you will notice that charging in Follow the sun mode is regularly interrupted. To ensure that your car continues to charge, you can activate the Follow the sun Comfort option in the app. (available from version 1.9.0)
When the sun disappears behind the clouds, your charging station will switch to the grid to continue charging the car. The energy manager ensures that a maximum of 1.4 kW (or 6 A) is consumed to charge your car without exceeding your maximum peak consumption. As soon as energy is generated again via your solar panels, priority is given to your own generated energy to charge the car.
Select the desired charge mode and save your changes via the button at the top right of the screen.
