Preparation

This user guide will help you install your Synkee dongle. Before you start the installation, remember the following:

  1. Activation of the P1 user port on your digital meter
    The port is active if an inverted triangle is visible on the screen above the letters ‘GP’ (or 'P1).

  2. Wi-Fi network data
    Make sure you have the name (SSID) of your Wi-Fi network and the password to hand. You will have received this information from your internet provider.

Step 1: Open the MobilityPlus app

Download the most recent version here.

Log in with your email address. Use your work email address if the Synkee dongle is part of your employer’s charging package.

Using the app for the first time?

Tap Forgot your password? and use your (work) email address to receive the link and set a new password.

Step 2: Create your Synkee account and select your subscription

Step 3: Configure the Synkee dongle

Once you have logged in, tap on Start setup.

The following screen will open:

Insert the Synkee dongle into the P1 user port

  1.  Find your digital meter.
  2. Insert the Synkee dongle into the P1 user port of your smart meter. 
  3. Wait for a few seconds until the LED on the Synkee dongle lights up and flashes white. This means the dongle has been connected correctly.

Tap on Next step.

The following screen will open:

  1. Once the LED is flashing white, press the black button in the middle of the Synkee dongle.
  2. Wait for a few seconds until the LED flashes blue. This indicates that pairing mode is active.

Tap on Connect.

The following screen will open:

Connect the app with your Synkee dongle

Allow the app to connect to the Synkee dongle, tap Allow to do so.

Once the app and your Synkee dongle have connected, the following screen will open:

Connect the Synkee dongle with your home network.

Tap on the name of your home network.

Synkee_Tips Icoon.png Select the home network that your other devices (charging station, solar panels, home battery, etc.) are also connected to.

The following screen will open:

Enter the password of your home network.

Synkee_Tips Icoon.png Is your network not password protected? Don't fill out anything.

Then tap on Connect.

As soon as the Synkee dongle is connected to your home network, it will start searching for updates. During this process, the LED will flash green. 

Once the updates are complete, the LED will stop flashing and shine a steady green.

This will take a maximum of 5 minutes.

Then tap on Next step and the following screen will open:

Step 4: Connecting your home

Then enter the maximum protection of your home and also your desired maximum peak consumption.

Tap on Complete to save your data and go to the next step.

Step 5: Complete the installation and configuration

Once all the information has been saved correctly, the following screen will open:

Tap on Complete installation.

Congratulations, your Synkee dongle has been successfully installed and configured!
